Ground Effect

Not the ground effect you're thinking of.

I see plenty of pilots always flying close to the ground, close to their friends, swooping along trying to pick up dirt or just to fly close to the ground. It's a type of ground effect flying stating, 'Hey look at me'. And sure, it's fun. You get a sensation of your speed....your control inputs are instantly observable with your ground reference, and your buddies, being fellow aviators, will stare dumbly forever at another human in flight. So we will always see this ground effect flying where it is possible.
